Well what good is that if they don't even speculate the cause?

For instance, if it was meteors or a nuclear disaster, Earth would be nothing but a large rock with no life. If the sun's 5th cycle took place, the same scenario would take place. The only really plausible way would be a large pandemic, but most likely animals would be affected by a disease that scale. And even then, what are the odds a disease would kill all humans at the same time?

Call me lacking suspension of disbelief, but they should at least have factored in the cause of extinction to what would happen.
